Coronavirus

Due to the current pandemic and according to government guidance, we are currently only allowing one adult in the shop at a time. The space is just too small to safely allow more. If you do need to bring your children with you, please keep them with you at all times, don’t let them move around the shop without you.

If you arrive at the shop and someone is already there, you will be asked to wait in your car, if you have driven. If you have come on foot, you will need to wait on the bench outside, if the weather is fine, or on a sofa at the far end of the shop if the weather is miserable.

Ideally, we need people to be in and out as quickly as possible, to keep the risk to us all low. We won’t be able to spend extended periods of time helping people plan complex quilts in the same way as we have done in the past. If you need us to calculate how much fabric you need, particularly for a quilt, it would be really helpful if you could let us have the measurements before you visit, so we can work this out for you.

If you already know what you want, you are welcome to let us know in advance, so that we can get it cut for you, ready for collection. This will mean you won’t need to queue to get into the shop, if you only need a couple of things.

On arrival, you will be asked to sanitise your hands. We would ask that you maintain a distance of two metres from staff at all times.

If you have symptoms consistent with coronavirus, or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive, please do not visit. A lot of our customers are vulnerable, and we cannot risk it being passed to them.

Alternative ways of shopping:

A majority of stock can be found on the ebay page. If there is anything you would like to buy, please let us know, and we can send you an invoice. UK P & P is charged at a flat rate of £1.99 per order.

Please note, not all of our stock can be found online, including spots and plains and haberdashery. If there is anything you need and you can’t see it, get in touch and we will see what we can do to help.

Once you know what you would like to buy, please let us know, and we can arrange for payment and delivery / collection.

Workshops and Social Sessions

Please see the Workshop tab for details of specific classes.

Classes are now being offered on a very limited basis, with two metre social distancing applied, and with windows open to allow air to circulate. For that reason, we are not mandating masks for classes, although you are welcome to wear one if you would prefer to.

All work stations are being thoroughly cleaned between sessions.

Where we would normally provide all of the equipment you need, including sewing machines, this is not currently possible. You will be sent out a list of the required equipment prior to your class. If you have any queries about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
